In August 2019, Deturk Foundation was privileged to be a part of an amazing project spearheaded by Ghana Make a Change to get portable water to some villages by drilling a well in their community that would serve as source of water for the village or community to use. This project took place at Koforidua, in the eastern region of Ghana.
I was privileged to meet amazing people and learned so many things. I got meet an amazing young man called Charles, made new friends and family, and above all I was able to reconnect with a missionary who was always visiting my family when I was very little. I also got to know Paul, a very talented and passionate young man whose love for serving others is so admirable. Together with the team, we had an amazing experience. I believe we are obliged to elevate those God has put in our way. I am a believer of the phrase “We rise by lifting others”.
I know I cannot help everyone but together we can help each other. Just as my great friend Keyan whose is part of the board members of Ghana Make a Change said, ” God has given each of us a gift and it hurts to see others not using it.”
Growing up, I discovered my family has been gifted to help people even when we do not have enough but one of the principle my late father taught me is that we need not to have it all before we help someone. By our small and simple deeds lots of lives would be touched and people will learn to pay if forward.
